Every now and then, something wonderful happens that truly affirms why I do what I do.
One recent afternoon in mid June, was an unforgettable moment in my journey as a Bob Ross Certified Instructor®.
Actor and director Liev Schreiber booked a private Bob Ross Landscape Painting Class—and what an amazing experience it was. He and his wife, Taylor Neisen wanted to celebrate their anniversary and so they joined me for a relaxed and inspiring session, painting happy little trees, majestic mountains, and soft, quiet afternoon skies.
I was a little bit nervous. But as always, we followed Bob Ross’s gentle philosophy: "Painting should make you happy!" And it did! Both Taylor and Liev were great students. Both wanted to learn, create a Bob Ross classic, and crack a few jokes along they way. Mission accomplished!
What made this even more special was what happened afterward. Unsolicited, Liev posted about the class on Instagram and even invited me to collaborate on the post. That kind gesture meant the world to me—not just because of the exposure, but because it showed how much the experience resonated with him, too.
As of today, that post has been viewed over 120,000 times and I’ve heard from several new students who found out about my classes through Liev’s story.
More than numbers, it was genuine connection.
Thank you, Liev. You could have done so many amazing things in New York City to celebrate your anniversary, and you chose to take my class. It was an experience I will never forget.
If you’re curious about what a Bob Ross class might bring to your life—whether it’s for a birthday, team gathering, or just something new to try—come join us. You never know what kind of beauty you might create, or who you might meet along the way.

What a beautiful story! It’s so heartwarming to see how art can bring joy, connection, and even a touch of magic to special moments like this. I love how Liev and Taylor embraced the Bob Ross spirit—it truly shows that painting isn’t just about technique, but about happiness and shared experience.
Reading this made me think of how often people say “I wish someone could take my class for me” when they feel nervous about trying something new. But stories like yours prove that showing up, even with a little hesitation, can lead to unforgettable memories. Thank you for sharing this inspiring experience—it really captures the joy of creativity!
